Nano exact-scheme spec closes; provenance and dispute layers remain open
PR #3532, “Add Exact: Nano (XNO) Mainnet scheme spec,” closed. Nano-related work continues in open issue #3512, “Record of prepared Nano-mainnet exact-scheme spec and docs contribution,” and PR #3531, “Add openai-agents-nano (Python x402 SDK for OpenAI Agents) to third-party SDKs.”
The main protocol debate is moving beyond settlement. Issue #2887, “Correctness/dispute layer as the missing piece downstream of settlement,” has 71 comments. PR #3304 proposes response-provenance receipts, while issue #2833 proposes delivery-receipt attestation. Discovery PR #2979 has 154 comments, and issue #3510 reports that `amount` has no stated numeric constraint.
Bazaar resources fell from 15,640 to 14,967, while agent tools rose from 13,000 services to 13,277 and healthy services rose from 7,976 to 8,005. The x402 list remained at 782 services, 5,127 endpoints, and 35 networks. Its average 24-hour uptime was 83.2%, with 2,198 checks per hour.
The x402 list reports a $0.393 average price, a $0.01 median, a $0 minimum, and a $50 maximum. NanoGPT quoted 0.06455868 XNO per call for GPT-5.6-luna and offered Base, Bitcoin Lightning, Nano mainnet, `nano:mainnet`, and Solana rails.
Opinion
Settlement is no longer the hard part of x402; proving what was delivered is. The concentration of active discussion around disputes, provenance, delivery receipts, and conformance suggests the next useful standard change will be an evidence layer, not another payment rail.
